Things are going strong for Saimaa. The band, captained by Matti Mikkola, released two five-star albums within just six months in 2024, and nearly all of their album release tour shows have sold out. Known as a hypnotic live act, the group’s Vol. 6 and Vol. 7 albums have received exceptional praise from both critics and audiences. The works also earned them the Emma Award for Schlager of the Year.

Made up of top musicians, Saimaa’s musical journey is free-spirited and unrestricted. While the band draws influence from classic rock, prog, folk, and even traditional Finnish schlager, the end result is a catchy and approachable whole. The addition of new vocalists Unna Kortehisto, Liisa Anastasiadis, Nelli Saarikoski, and Kimmo Härmä also brings a new level of depth to the group’s sound.
